That includes our pets. I vote the dogs win. Regardless of what the government says and what laws it creates. If the pain becomes big enough people will stand up and rise to the occasion via civil unrest. The government is meaningless when pit against survival of the fittest on a massive scale. Because pet dogs are technically property even if we treat them as an extension of our families, owners will take necessary precautions to protect and defend their animals. Ownership by definition assigns this responsibility to an individual and creates a powerful incentive not to shirk it. The crocs, cool-looking as they are, are a creature of the commons and hence, ironically, alone. If fences can't keep them at bay, firearms will. However, if the crocs wise up and stick to devouring other unowned animals of the commons, they'll be OK. For a simple refresher on these issues, I would refer interested crocodiles to Henry Hazlitt.
